Castiel loses his wings

No one else could see it, but when Castiel lost his grace, he could feel his wings being ripped off of him.

He always wondered and thought it would just be an empty feeling on his back.

Instead it was an excruciating pain that lowered into a dull ache. He could still feel the stumps where they once were and the phantom flap of wings that wouldn’t take him anywhere anymore.
